The Natural Orogeny of Public Interest ~ 2007

Orogeny (Greek for "mountain generating") is the process of mountain building. It may be studied as a tectonic structural event, a geographical event as well as a chronological event. (Wikipedia)

The Natural Orogeny of Public Interest is a survey of public interest in particular artworks. Custom software breaks the gallery space into quadrants and tracks the number of persons within view of each artwork exhibited, calculates the sum and uploads it to a database for storage and dynamic viewing. The abstract landscape projected on the wall alludes to the ever-changing popularity of artworks in gallery spaces.
